The Practice

MMX YYZ Architecture is a multifaceted research-based architecture office situated in Malmö, Sweden with its beginnings in Toronto, Canada. The practice is originated on a conviction that principal’s unique architectural background would serve to generate informed, comprehensive and relevant solutions to a wide range or architectural problems. MMX YYZ regards every commission as an opportunity to critically reassess convention and develop projects that generate value for their clients and the general public.

Nevena Krilic, Principal

Nevena Krilic is a talented architect from Toronto, currently living and working in Malmö. Her work intentionally spans several disciplines, scales and building typologies. Her designs, a direct result of her innate curiosity, critical mindset, and whimsy are precise, considerate and bold.

While working at Hauschild+Siegel, an award winning, architect-driven development company, Nevena lead the design and management of 2 large residential projects with a focus on biking, mobility, sustainability and urban lifestyle.At Fojab Arkitekter, Nevena gained valuable knowledge and experience in understanding the Swedish standard (SIS), building practice and code. Recently, she was formally certified with the TIL 2 Accessibility certification in Sweden. Much of her Canadian architectural experience was gained at Zeidler, an international architectural practice, with its headquarters in Toronto, where she worked on large scale residential, transportation and civic projects in Canada and China.

Nevena has been an adjunct professor at the schools of architecture at Lunds Universitet, SE, as well as the University of Waterloo,CA. She was awarded The Steedman Fellowship for her urban design proposal for St. Louis along the Mississippi river waterfront in 2010.

Nevena is creative, methodical, driven and outspoken.

2012 Chaumont-Sur-Loire International Garden Competition - opened in April 2012 until October 2012

2010 1st Place, Steedman International Competition Washington University, St. Louis, US. established in 1926, The Steedman Fellowship in architecture is one of the oldest and most prestigious awards in the US, granted biannually to an emerging architect to conduct research abroad.
